ALTMAN SNUBS MUSKS OFFER TO PURCHASE OPEN AI
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, has firmly rejected a $97.4 billion acquisition offer led by Elon Musk. The proposal, backed by Musk’s AI venture xAI and several investors, sought to gain control over OpenAI but was quickly dismissed by Altman. On X, formerly Twitter, Altman humorously countered with, “no thank you but we will buy twitter for $9.74 billion if you want,” a playful jab at Musk’s $44 billion purchase of X in 2022. Musk responded by calling Altman a “swindler” on the platform, further escalating their public feud.
